I have my first knee replacement scheduled for August 28th, 2024. I'm hoping for a cancellation before that. In May, I had a cortisone injection for swelling in my knee, the first injection since 2013. I got some relief from it, but it seems like my knee has been deteriorating more quickly since the replacement was scheduled. If I spend more than 3 hours on the tennis court in a day, I have problems with pain, so my tennis teaching is limited.
Last night, while coaching some doubles from the sidelines, I had trouble walking. My friend noticed and asked if I was okay. I had to admit that I wasn't.
I'll need to have my other knee replaced in late '24 or early '25. Meanwhile, I'm working on a course for on-court visual training of athletes and translating my books into other languages. If you can help with the translations, please let me know. I'm also preparing for the release of my course by the end of July.
Despite the pain, I'm looking forward to getting past it soon. I'm envious of those who have already had their knee replacements.
